The Rowlett I remember.
Discuss Hello everyone. I'm sitting here bored at work (slow overnight), and I stumbled on to this site. Like I said I'm bored, so this is what I've chosen to do to kill some time.
My family moved out there in '81 when there was just a few thousand people. I was only four and my family stayed out there until 2000, so I got to see a good chunk of the towns changes over those years. Here's how Rowlett was when I grew up there...

1. If you wanted to go out to eat within town you had THREE CHOICES:
a.) Sonic

b.) Dairy Queen

c.) Happy Cafe

(*In 1985 we got the Burger King. Mass hysteria ran wild).

2. If you wanted to go grocery shopping you had basically TWO CHOICES:
a.) old Tom Thumb off Broadway in South Garland
